As a black therapist based in Houston, I understand the significance of cultural sensitivity and the need for representation in the field of mental health. My journey began right here in Houston, Texas, where I was born and raised. A proud graduate of the Houston Independent School District, I furthered my education with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Downtown and a master’s from the University of Houston-Victoria. With over 7 years dedicated to mental health service, I’ve supported individuals grappling with a spectrum of challenges, including grief, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia, among others.

My experiences have taught me that every small victory is a monumental step in one’s recovery, and celebrating these milestones with my clients is a privilege. The therapy I provide is anchored in person-centered approaches, affirming the unique backgrounds and needs of each individual. My practice is an open and empathetic space that welcomes diversity and values the cultural contexts that each person brings to the table.

In our sessions, you will be embraced with understanding, respect, and an unwavering commitment to journey alongside you with courage, humor, and the tenacity necessary to navigate life’s complexities. The ethos of my work is encapsulated in the belief that “We are all one situation away from needing someone.” Bearing personal acquaintance with grief and loss, I approach each interaction with an intimate understanding of the myriad emotions these experiences invoke while striving to maintain balance in life.

As your therapist, my role is to lighten the weight of your burdens by fostering resilience and acceptance. While the journey toward healing can involve confronting fear and sadness, you will not be alone. We will face each challenge as a team, leveraging them as opportunities for growth and learning. With every session, I am committed to offering patience and compassion and, equally, to challenging you to unlock the potential of your best self.

Together, let’s equip you with the tools for developing a robust and confident mindset, ready to embrace the future with strength and hope. Your path to greater happiness is a collaborative one, and as a black therapist in Houston, I stand ready to guide you every step of the way with cultural competence and heartfelt dedication to your well-being.
