I have had my share of emotional pain, as we all have, and I tap into my personal experience to help my clients in the most empathetic way.  Using a strength-based approach, I help my clients utilize their own strengths and skills to bring about positive change in their lives. I also believe we all have the capacity to gain power over our thoughts, and in turn, our feelings and behaviors. We don’t have to be slaves to them. This idea is the very basis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a powerful way to alleviate depression, anxiety, and other various conditions. In partnership with an experienced professional, an individual can begin to loosen the bonds of these difficult challenges and become the best version of themselves.

 I enjoy working with all ages, particularly with adolescents and adults who suffer from mood disorders, such as depression and bipolar disorder. I have also worked with children as young as 3, using play therapy. Having come from a religious background, I am particularly sensitive to issues and conflicts that arise in a religious context. I also have extensive experience working with individuals battling different types of addictions such as alcohol, drugs, and food.
