I believe there is power in being able to go to a therapist who can understand your language, culture, and religion. I am passionate about helping individuals and helping them get through the rough patch they have been going through. I am someone who lets you lead the session and helps you navigate therapy. I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist, which I attempt to create a healthy relationship.
I lost my father in 2016 and it helped me grow as a person and a therapist. I was able to understand this new normal of what my new life was going to be. I can understand how lonely it can feel when the world expects you to keep moving, while you are feeling “stuck” missing your loved one. I can understand the waves of grief that may come when you have joyous moments in life and hurdles in life that you wish you could share with your loved one. The thing about therapy is you can have someone hold your hand in these moments. I can’t bring your loved one back, but I can be there for you and help you navigate this.
I graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Master’s in Counseling in 2015. I have experience working with adolescents and to elderly. I work from a person-centered approach and use Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
