My name is Michelle Collins, LPC, LCDC. I am a professional counselor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor, and have been working in this field since 2014. I have worked with teens, adults and couples, in a variety of settings, and my mission is to help individuals find solutions and meet challenges head on. I work with individuals who struggle with trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders and grief. My own experiences have shaped the way I view this work, and I am passionate about helping people find their voice, their path and their purpose. I feel fortunate that I am able to work in a profession that allows me to be present with people, and watch them transition and be the best version of themselves.

My focus in therapy is to meet you where you’re at and provide techniques that meet your needs, explore your strengths and provide you with balance. I utilize evidence-based approaches, but tailor treatment and interventions to meet specific needs and wants. I regularly use CBT, DBT and solution-focused therapies, but find that I appreciate techniques of various modalities. I am trained in EMDR, which is a type of therapy that is very effective and has been used successfully to treat trauma and PTSD. I will always respect your boundaries and celebrate your uniqueness.

I want the individuals I serve to feel empowered, understood and safe. It is not easy asking for help, and it is not always comfortable to share intimate details of your life with someone you don’t know. At times you may feel like you can’t make it through, but I want to assure you that you are stronger than you might think. This journey through life can be challenging, but I would like to support you and let you know that you are not alone.
