Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Supervisor

Certifications and/or training:
Certified Grief Counselor (GC-C), Certification in Thanatology (CT) and Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP)

Are you experiencing a time of significant loss, stressful change, relationship difficulties, or a daunting medical diagnosis? We all experience loss and change by virtue of experiencing life and engaging in relationships. I have learned that grief must be witnessed by someone who does not try to diminish the experience. Someone who can sit with the discomfort and honor those feelings without judgment.  Someone who supports finding meaning and purpose amidst the transition. Someone who knows that it takes strength to make changes, the courage to deepen or resolve relationships, and resilience to cope with life’s challenges.

My specialty and passion are helping people experiencing difficult life transitions. Therapy provides a safe space to make impactful changes in your life and it is where you begin to better understand yourself. I strive to provide hope, encouragement, and support as you redefine your path. My practice concentrates on healing, growth, and creating meaning from life experiences. To be seen, understood, and heard. I utilize an active, strengths-based approach that is collaborative and tailored to your specific needs, personality, and cultural background. In our work, we will form goals towards your personal growth, make meaning of changes, learn to cope with uncertainty, and build upon your innate resilience.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2005. My previous clinical experience includes mental health treatment (inpatient and outpatient) and working with individuals facing chronic and serious health conditions with their families, including work in palliative care and hospice. I have specialized training in grief counseling, thanatology (the study of death education) and group psychotherapy. I have extensive knowledge in helping those who are struggling with grief/loss, depression, anxiety, shame, relationship issues, stress management, career challenges, life changes (graduation, parenting, divorce, retirement), trauma, and health issues including serious medical problems or diagnoses, aging, and end-of-life planning.

I am honored to be a part of the team of therapists at Grief Recovery Center who are equally passionate about supporting those who are living with loss and grief. I would love the opportunity to meet with you so that we can further discuss your needs and goals.
