Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Your mental health is very important. Whether you are struggling with a new challenge, or an on-going challenge, getting support can make a world of difference. The decision to seek therapy is a courageous one and I strive to establish a safe and trusting therapeutic environment for all of my clients. I provide a warm, caring and empathetic space for my clients to share and explore difficult thoughts, anxious feelings and anything else that may hinder their mental health. It is my personal goal to assist my clients to be the best version of themselves.
Growing up in East Oakland, I experienced traumatic events on a regular basis. Attending the funerals of high school friends and peers, as well as close family members left an indelible psychological imprint. I became an isolated and angry individual with destructive thoughts and behaviors. I had absolutely no idea I was struggling with grief and loss. It was when I decided to further my education in Counseling Psychology that I came face-to-face with what caused so much trauma and chaos in my earlier years. I learned about grief and loss, and how if left unresolved and unhealed, could indeed wreak havoc in someone’s life. It has been my mission to assist people in healing from their own grief and loss, as I have personal experience of these very powerful feelings and emotions.
During the course of my career, I have worked with teens, adults, couples and families. I strive to stay current with various trainings and strategies to further my ability to assist my clients in benefiting from the wonderful journey of therapy. I look forward to working with you.
