Education: Doctor of Social Work from University at Buffalo; Master’s in Social Work from University of Maryland

As a young adult, I learned the damaging effects of trauma and grief as I witnessed friends and family return home from war and deteriorate due to limited access to mental health services. At 19 years old, I made it my mission to help service members and veterans struggling due to trauma and grief. Through this work, I became aware of the very significant mental health concerns first responders also face and expanded my expertise to include working with police, firefighters, EMTs, corrections officers, and medical providers.

Though much of my career has been focused on helping veterans, service members, and first responders, I have also spent a great deal of time working with individuals who suffer due to depression, grief, and anxiety, as well as non-work-related traumas such as assault (interpersonal, gun violence), vehicle accidents, and medical-related diagnoses/experiences. I also have experience working in hospice, including end-of-life planning and care. I recognize how damaging trauma, grief, and depression can be and I am here to help.

In our sessions, you can expect to gain a thorough understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, all of which impact day-to-day functioning. I find it essential to work through mental health concerns in order to move forward and rebuild a sense of identity and purpose. I am an active participant in therapy sessions, meaning I believe in offering tools and feedback in real time so you can gain practical skills to use every day, both in and outside of therapy sessions.

In my 10+ years of experience, I have found that a person-centered treatment approach coupled with solution-focused techniques and evidence-based practices often helps people regain a sense of control and feel like themselves again. I believe that I can help to support you through this process and would be honored to meet with you.
