Daniel Lightell Jr.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
My name is Daniel Lightell Jr., and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families with mental health and interpersonal issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and behavioral issues. I am particularly passionate about supporting couples and families who are experiencing conflict or stress as well as adolescents and young adults facing difficulties in their lives. As a therapist, I seek to join with my clients not as an “expert” or simply a clinician but as a supportive partner and teammate to help them meet their goals.
Throughout my career I have had the privilege of supporting clients of a wide range of ages and backgrounds experiencing grief from the death of a loved one, loss of relationship, chronic illness and pet loss amongst other issues. Beyond this, as a client, I was fortunate to receive grief support after the sudden loss of a close family member during my youth. Having this experience taught me the underappreciated impact of grief on one’s mental and physical health as well as the innate resilience of all human beings to heal and grow from loss with the support of others.
I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Functional Family Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help clients build effective coping skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful personal growth within a supportive, collaborative environment.
If you are in need of support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
