Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting on your way to mental wellness. I am Carla Jenkins-Pratt, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. As a certified teacher, therapist, and veteran, I enjoy connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and gaining insights from their unique perspectives, which enriches my life.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and elderly individuals in various mental health settings, including residential treatment centers, K-12, college, private practice, mental health hospitals, outpatient facilities, and the military. These diverse experiences have sharpened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of the complexities individuals face in managing their mental wellness.

My clinical experience includes addressing grief, trauma, family conflict, divorce, homelessness, parenting challenges, substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, intimate partner/family violence, adjustment issues, mental health issues, and other life challenges. These diverse experiences have sharpened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of the complexities individuals face in managing their mental wellness.

I use evidence-based approaches but customize treatment and interventions to meet the needs and preferences of clients. I consistently employ Cognitive Behavior Therapy and incorporate techniques from other modalities such as EMDR, Gottman, hypnotherapy, neurofeedback, and others. I tailor therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of diverse populations. I am committed to expanding my knowledge in mental wellness to improve service to my clients.

Grief involves loss, whether it is the loss of a loved one, relationship, job, health, etc. Loss is a wound felt internally, while grief is the healing. After experiencing a loss, one struggles to adapt to an unwanted new reality while the world moves on. Step into a space where I cultivate a safe and supportive environment by offering a quart of respect, a cup of non-judgment, a pinch of humor, a spoonful of compassion, a tablespoon of trust, a pint of empathy, a zest of patience, a cup of acceptance, and a teaspoon flexibility. An everyday recipe that makes a difference and transforms lives. Let’s talk!
