Licensed Professional Counselor
“Hospitality is not to change people but to offer them space where change can take place.” -Henri Nouwen
I am the daughter of an immigrant who came to the US in search of better life and honest wages. My Hispanic family sacrificed everything to assure we got fed, dressed, and educated. Being the oldest has brought advantages but also much responsibility for younger siblings, family illness and hardship, and aging parents, just to mention a few. Each stage in life has brought its own challenges and I’ve worked hard and endured many obstacles to assure I’ve learned from them. I’ve had my own obstacles to face as a parent and know firsthand how difficult, but important, it is to love unconditionally.
My grief spans beyond loved ones and includes things that I will never be able to replace. But I have risen above the pain and look forward to being happy and living each day to its fullest. My faith in God is vital to my very existence and I welcome faith-based matters if a client prefers.
I speak Spanish and English and see my role as a counselor as an opportunity to offer my clients a safe place where they can revisit who and what is important to them. Change is inevitable and isn’t right or wrong, but at times we need help in identifying the choices in front of us. Give me an opportunity to help you attain your goals.
