Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Before I became a therapist, I knew I was meant to do this work. I always wondered what motivated people’s behaviors, what governed their thoughts – and what allowed people to be so different. People fascinated me, and I decided early on I had to figure out why everyone’s stories were important to me. Once I started studying, I learned that everyone needed to learn why their stories matter as well. Despite the things that have happened to you, you are the author of your story and it is time to start writing it in a way that you enjoy.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 7 years of experience. My previous work experience consists of working with victims of sexual abuse and non-offending caregivers at a child advocacy center, residential trauma work with teenagers and families, and online therapy where I’ve worked with teenagers, couples, and adults of all ages. I have specialized experience in complex trauma; however, I also enjoy working with life transitions, family therapy, adolescents, couples, and human trafficking survivors. Most of my experience has been with teenagers and families, but I enjoy working with everyone.
I have certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). I very much believe that a successful therapeutic relationship begins with listening to the client(s) and collaborating on a modality of treatment, so I like to draw from a wide variety of treatment models. Specifically, we are all relational beings. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, your family, or you and your partner, those relationships matter.
You are the expert of your life and your relationships, but sometimes we all need someone that is open-minded, caring, and non-judgmental. If you are ready to take the steps to invest more in yourself, I would love the opportunity to be that person to walk beside you on your journey.
