Are you struggling with a difficult situation or experience? Have you tried to “shake it off”, but find that you just can’t? I’ve been there myself and I’ve got over 25 years of experience helping people navigate these types of issues.
I am here and ready to connect with you to sort through stressors and problems. We can explore ways to increase your ability to not only manage and cope, but perhaps even find more happiness and calmness (even under difficult circumstances).
I understand trauma, loss, and the crushing weight of hopelessness and accompanying thoughts that things will never be better or different. For many years, I worked as an embedded criminal justice social worker and helped people navigate traumatic and difficult situations, including sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, deaths of family members and friends, and other serious types of circumstances. My work in criminal justice also allowed me to learn about the culture and the stresses and pressures that accompany first responders, investigators and helping professionals.
I utilize a culturally competent, compassionate, non-judgmental, and encouraging client-centered approach to assist people in negotiating tough times and experiences. I have been trained in and utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Mindfulness, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (The Beck Institute), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and other methodologies.
I hope to assist you in sorting out problems, worries, shame, depression, anxiety, hurt, loss, or trauma. Let’s meet to find a solution that works for you.
