Licensed Professional Counselor & Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
My name is Cosima Robinson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and National Certified Counselor. I am passionate about offering support, a kind ear, and guidance to all in need.
I specialize in assisting clients with substance use disorders, grief, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and more. I enjoy working with my clients, supporting them through life events, and providing them with skills to navigate through the events that may occur on the journey of life.
A time of grief can be an exceptionally difficult time in life. Those experiencing loss may need additional support to cope and process their feelings. I provide a safe place to encourage healing and grieving.
My goal is to provide a safe and healing environment, and provide the opportunity to achieve a greater degree of independence and integration, through the building of coping, problem-solving, and goal-focused skills.
My counseling approach is based on a combination of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapy. Through collaboration with clients, techniques are utilized and adjusted to best serve the client’s unique needs.
In addition to private practice, I also counsel dual-diagnoses patients, recovering from substance abuse and mental illness. I have also worked with patients in residential and intensive outpatient hospitals, incarcerated individuals, victims of domestic violence, and at-risk youth and families.
On a personal note, I enjoy playing the flute and piano in my spare time. I also enjoy exercise, literature, and spending time with friends and family. Supporting others has always seemed to come naturally to me. I believe that I was drawn to this career for a reason, and I desire to make a difference. Be well!
