Licensed Clinical Social Worker

As an adolescent, I vividly remember sitting across from a family social worker, hesitant to entrust her with my truth, skeptical that were I to disclose to her our story that any good could come of it, pessimistic of the stranger that sat before me. Yet, in retrospect, I could not have been more mistaken. This “stranger” worked diligently with my family and her commitment to supporting us inspired me to want to help serve others in much the same manner. When contemplating what I wanted to do with my life I thought to myself how I could go about making the biggest difference in this world and I thought of this woman who had instilled hope in our lives and I knew then that this is what I was meant to do as well.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with an array of practice experience providing coaching, counseling, and psychotherapeutic services to adolescents and adults. I have worked in various practice settings with non-profit organizations, schools, clinics, and hospitals (inpatient/outpatient). Additionally, I served three years abroad with the Peace Corps in Latin America working in youth development and education. I intend to engage with clients from a person-centered, strength-based and trauma-focused approach, leveraging, among others, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused brief therapy models. I have experience working with people who have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, codependency, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma, PTSD, oppositional defiance, personality disorders, and other mood disorders.

I have the good fortune of still being in communication with my mentor from many years ago. I’m grateful for the semblance of peace that we found in our sessions, especially amidst the calamity of so much tragedy. I know firsthand the value of having someone in your life who you feel safe expressing the most vulnerable aspects of yourself. I’d like to be able to help create that space with you as we work together in your therapeutic journey.
